Happy Earth Day!

I truly believe every day should be Earth Day! It is so important to take care of our environment--We only have one planet. Since our precious planet is all we have, we must learn to share and care for it. There are a plethora of amazing organisms--like my all time favorite: red-eye tree frogs.

Stop and take a look around you. You may be wonderfully surprised at what is happening right in your backyard. From the birds that bring you lovely music every morning, to the ladybugs and spiders that provide protection to our gardens, form the bees that help with pollination, to the flowers that bring beautiful rainbow colors to our eyes, to the sunrise that greets us every day and to the sunset that tucks us in at night...the list goes on and on.

From high above our atmosphere, Commander Chris Hadfield, sent down an Earth Day greeting from the International Space Station. "Good Morning, World, and Happy Earth Day from orbit!" he wrote from his Twitter account (@Cmdr_Hadfield) on Monday. "One touch of nature makes the whole world kin."

He has unbelievably beautiful and amazing views from space every day (not to mention an awesome job!). He loves taking pictures of our planet. I would love to catch a view from above...maybe some day.

This is one of many pictures he has taken.

So as you go about your day, remember that our planet is precious and definitely one of a kind. Let's all try to Reduce! Reuse! and  Recycle!
